  1. @dillonplunkett I've just tested this on our macOS High Sierra (fresh install) test machine, and get the expected results, with the latest file at the top: I have recently raised a bug to Apple with regards to a change in behaviour (and API crash) relating to the macOS metadata search, and while it's unrelated to the specific issue you describe, I am not surprised to see that the High Sierra indexing / metadata query is being quirky. I am currently working on a few different things which may help mitigate overall oddness in default search results provided by Apple when things aren't working 100% in the macOS metadata server, but on the whole, this should work as expected. Could you try temporarily creating a new user profile, switching to that user, and testing the behaviour there? Cheers, Andrew
  2. @t3k I've just created you a simple example which uses comma as the separator and messaged it to you
  3. While I'm not completely closed to the idea of increasing potential capacity of the clipboard history (search performance implications aside), I'd like to understand when 3 months of text isn't enough. If you use an item from the clipboard history, it moves to the top of the list, effectively resetting the 3 month timer on that item. So really, the 3 month limit is "items in the clipboard history which I haven't used in the last 3 months". Anything you need longer than this would surely be better suited to a snippet? (It's extremely easy to convert a clipboard item to a snippet by using cmd+s on it in the clipboard history view). Cheers, Andrew
  4. Could you let me know what's listed in your macOS preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility. This could help point us in the right direction. Cheers, Andrew
  5. @iandol you'll need to properly quit karabiner, so that the karabiner_grabber isn't running - this is the part of karabiner which intercepts / manipulates key events. For interest: The way that macOS hotkeys operate is that Alfred registers them with macOS, and is notified by macOS when this hotkey is used. If something in macOS intercepts a hotkey (or any key event for that matter), macOS won't notify, so Alfred isn't even aware that this hotkey combo has been pressed, i.e. there would be nothing for Alfred to log.
  6. @sydmalicious78 It's essentially caused by a bug in the macOS 10.13 metadata API affecting a handful of Alfred users. This will hopefully be fixed by Apple in the future. For now, pop an email to our info@ address, and I'll share a build I've been working on which may work around this issue. Cheers, Andrew
  7. Both of these are capable of intercepting hotkey combinations, so another thing to try would be to temporarily quit these.
  8. To add to this, there is more info on transient and concealed data here: http://www.nspasteboard.org Cheers, Andrew [moving to help forum]
  9. @iandol the behaviour you describe sounds like a hotkey conflict in macOS. The easiest way to check this is to change Alfred's hotkey to e.g. alt+space for a while and see if you still see this issue. Also, it sounds like you already have Spotlight set to something other than cmd+space, have you checked language switching? https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/cmd-space/ Cheers, Andrew
  10. @eyals the approach you've taken will have bypassed the migration assistant which is why you will be missing some preferences in Alfred 3. Your best bet would be to zip up your Alfred 2 preferences and pop them in an email to our info@ address and I'll migrate them to Alfred 3 for you Cheers, Andrew
  11. It's worth adding to what @vitor said by saying that when Alfred doesn't have any internal knowledge for sorting, he falls back on the macOS "last used" metadata field for files. If you've done a full reinstall, this info may also have been lost giving essentially unsorted results. Things should get back to normal pretty quickly as you start using things though
  12. @alpha11411 You need to perform the clipboard merging without Alfred showing. 1. Select some text in an app and copy it using cmd+c 2. Select some different text in an app, and merge it to the previous clipboard item using cmd+c+c Cheers, Andrew
  13. @srudersdorf the last email I see from last year, could you double check the address you sent to? it should be info@ (our domain) Cheers, Andrew
  14. @srudersdorf have you emailed it? I don't see it in the inbox. Cheers, Andrew
  15. @sydmalicious78 open Console.app and you should find the crash logs there. Pop an email to our info@ address and I'll take a look Cheers, Andrew
  16. @sydmalicious78 strange! Could you try deleting the clipboard database in the following location: ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred 3/Databases/clipboard.alfdb It could be that the latest macOS update has corrupted the database. Cheers, Andrew
  17. @BenjaminTodd you will be able to change the snippet sound in a future release, this is something which has been in my tracker for quite some time
  18. @s95hc8 I suggest you try stopping using Onyx regularly for a little while to see if that helps improve things. It might be that you're accidentally cleaning out necessary caches for macOS (both Spotlight, Finder and Alfred) to operate optimally. Also, if it's specifically this one workflow you are having an issue with, there is a chance it's missing certain things Alfred needs to provide sorting (i.e. result UIDs). Are things like web searches sorting to the top after you've used them a few times? Andrew
  19. @SAJ the two things you could try is slow down key events to the slowest, and turning off restoration of clipboard content. Both of these options are found in Alfred's Features > Snippets > [cog] > Tweaking. Cheers, Andrew
  20. @Moody with the Powerpack, you can configure navigation to use arrow keys, but by default, the right arrow key will show the actions panel (which coincidentally also has an option to navigate in the actions list). Cheers, Andrew
  21. @johnnyxhuynh I've just tested this on a fresh macOS 10.13 install with APFS, and when I create a new similar document on the desktop, it appears at the top with no internal Alfred knowledge, as expected. Is spotlight finding the new file you created? Have you tried creating a new user account?
  22. @Marcin Bogdanowicz I don't recommend using syncing for backing up data (but if you insist, then I recommend Dropbox as the only reliable solution). All of your settings are stored within the Alfred.alfredpreferences file, so back that up however you like, manually or time machine will save these settings.
  23. @Marcin Bogdanowicz ok, great... here goes: 1. Quit Alfred 2 2. Copy the good version of Alfred.alfredpreferences into ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred 2/ replacing the file of the same name (might be worth backing that one up too, just in case) 3. Open Terminal.app and paste: defaults delete com.runningwithcrayons.Alfred-Preferences syncfolder 4. If no error is shown from this, start Alfred 2 Hope this helps!
  24. @cstsoi That fix relates to file system navigation browsing and filtering, not Alfred's default file search... Alfred's file search should be sorted and organised based on your usage. If you've recently updated to macOS High Sierra, you may find that macOS has reindexed itself and the results aren't showing in the most used order until you've had a chance to re-teach it. If you create a new text file on your desktop (named something similar to an already existing file), then search for it, does it show at the top? Cheers, Andrew
  25. As long as you still have a good copy of the Alfred.alfredpreferences, it should be easy to get all of your settings and workflows back. @Marcin Bogdanowicz can you confirm which version of Alfred you are using? Your Powerpack shows as v2, so the instructions will be slightly different. Cheers, Andrew
