brandonjp
I'm having a similar issue. I've got several files with Finder comments and Spotlight is able to find them, but Alfred is not. I've tried reloading the Alfred cache. I've also upgraded from Alfred 3 to 4. These files are located in /Applications (some are in sub-folders, such as /Setapp, but not all) Any suggestions? Thanks! Here is the output from Alfred Metadata Tool: https://pastebin.com/ePm0UheM Below is a screenshot showing comments, Alfred, and Alfred Metadata Tool. AXLr80r
Hi, did you try to prefix a space at your search? Instead of "downloader" try "[space]downloader". That was my case. Link to comment
rongeurthat
I can search "mail" in Spotlight and it shows up. I cannot find "mail" when typed into Alfred. Link to comment

Mateusz G
I've the same issue - Alfred can't find several apps in my /Applications folder. Using Alfred Metadata I'm getting: /Applications/Sourcetrail.app Internal File Metadata ====================== Display Name: Alt Names: File Type: Comments: Keywords: Last Used: Raw mdls File Metadata ====================== kMDItemFSContentChangeDate = (null) kMDItemFSCreationDate = (null) kMDItemFSCreatorCode = "" kMDItemFSFinderFlags = (null) kMDItemFSHasCustomIcon = (null) kMDItemFSInvisible = 0 kMDItemFSIsExtensionHidden = (null) kMDItemFSIsStationery = (null) kMDItemFSLabel = (null) kMDItemFSName = (null) kMDItemFSNodeCount = (null) kMDItemFSOwnerGroupID = (null) kMDItemFSOwnerUserID = (null) kMDItemFSSize = (null) kMDItemFSTypeCode = "" Application (SourceTrail) can be found on github: https://github.com/CoatiSoftware/Sourcetrail Link to comment
Andrew
@face have you added /Volumes/Studio/ to Alfred's default search scope? If you're on Catalina, Alfred will likely also need full disk access granted. @Mateusz G the info you've provided shows that this file isn't being indexed by macOS. You'll need to reindex your Mac. Take a look at the troubleshooting here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/ Link to comment
Vero
@face You can add Alfred manually: In Accessibility, click the + button and choose Alfred from the apps folder. Cheers, Vero Link to comment
Vero
@face How did you set up your Features > Default Results? Alfred will show the most relevant results for your search, and will learn from your usage (showing the most relevant results at the top) I would recommend keeping only essential file types selected, but am guessing you've either added a lot of file types to the defaults, or ticked Unintelligent search. Keeping those results efficient is the best way to ensure you only get the results you want. You can then expand your search to include more results by pressing the spacebar before your search. You'll find more details in this guide: https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/beginners-guide-to-alfred-searching-your-mac-and-the-web/ Cheers, Vero Link to comment
