Tubby
Hi there, Alfred is unable to find a file despite passing "File Search Troubleshooting". Other things I have tried: Finding other files within the same folder (it can find them) Moving the file out onto desktop, and back in folder (still unable to find) Renaming the folder Any ideas? Vero
@EricCartman Could you provide some more information so that we can help you? What was the output of the troubleshooter? You can copy/paste it here Which version of Alfred and macOS are you using? Was the file found when you moved it to the Desktop? What exactly are you typing into Alfred to find the file? The more information you provide, the more likely we'll be able to help you out Cheers, Vero Link to comment
Tubby
@Vero My apologies ! Which version of Alfred and macOS are you using? Alfred - 4.5.1 [1256] MacOS - 10.14.6 (18G6032) Was the file found when you moved it to the Desktop? No, Alfred couldn't find it even after it was moved to desktop (picture below). Spotlight could find it in its original location and desktop. What exactly are you typing into Alfred to find the file? I've tried the full name with extension and smaller clips of the name (nothing works). Output of the troubleshooter: Quote Starting Diagnostics... Looking at Alfred's Preferences Features > Default Results > Extras, I can see that "Video" is not part of the default set of tickable file types and that is probably what is causing my issues. Is there anyway to easily add "videos" as a file type rather than having to manually add extensions like .mp4? ------------------------------------ Also, it looks like that spacebar trick (aka the "open" keyword) cannot find a file if I enter its extension. (❌video1.mp4 ✅video1). Is there a way to make it accept a file's extension as well? Edited August 9, 2021 by EricCartman Link to comment
