solved File Filter: filter file name

Hello all,

I'm getting to know the File Filter feature in the Workflows: I understand it's possible to filter down file types.

 

However, I'd like to filter down files which file names contain a specific string of text, in this file filter (without giving this as an extra parameter — so kind of like a default variable). Is this possible, and if so, how?

could the Fields tab work for you? it looks like you could include a string from a variable... If i understand this correctly, you should be able to create a variable with your string and then add the to the value fields.... or if you have a constant string it looks like you can add it there as well. I don't have a good example but would be curious to see how you set it up.

Yes I just tried this multiple ways without any luck.

@vitor I know you have a ton on your plate but do you know the answer to this? I'm curious about @Gabrielh's question here and have tried to sort it out. How should a constant string be used in that fields section?

As way of example, this works to filter for .alfredworkflow files:

 

 

All I did was change the Value for the kMDItemDisplayName.
