frapaul83
Hi there, I recently switched over to a Mac Studio. I noticed that a Word file that I had saved was not coming up with Alfred. I reindexed MacOS Metadata. When that did not work, I deleted .spotlight-V100 folder and rebooted. It still didn't fix it. It's driving me crazy, and it makes me paranoid about what other things it won't find when I'm searching. lol I am on Alfred 5.1.2 [2145] I am on an Apple M2 Max device with Ventura 13.5 Help? :) The bug report is here: Starting Diagnostics... Stephen_C
Welcome to the forum. I appreciate that you've probably deleted both the file name and the file path for reasons of confidentiality but, in fact, it may be important for us to know where the file is stored in order to be able to diagnose the problem. If my next suggestion does not solve the problem for you please tell us where the file is located. 2 hours ago, frapaul83 said: I recently switched over to a Mac Studio. Did you migrate your apps, files and settings to the new machine or did you set it up from scratch? If you migrated please read the section on this Alfred help page headed Rebuild your Mac's metadata index . (If you search for migrate on the forum you'll find a lot of posts from people who have had problems finding files after migration to a new Mac—that's why I'm guessing it may be your problem). frapaul83
Hi there, thanks for your reply! Yes, I did all of these things referenced in the help page already. And, yes, I did migrate to this new Mac! When I first migrated Alfred wasn't finding anything, so that's why I had already gone to the help pages and done everything in that link, and it solved most things. What I had deleted was: File: 'Parable of the Sower.docx' Path: '/Users/**********/Google Drive/AP/Writing, Sermons, Talks & Lectures' Also of note: - I added "Google Drive" manually to the list of folders to make sure Alfred can find - Other documents IN the same folder are found by Alfred As mentioned, everything that's in the help page you linked I had already done. Thanks so much for all your help! Link to comment

I suspect if you search for "Google drive” on the forums most threads will end with a reference to that workflow! (Sorry, in a rush at the moment so please excuse the fact I've not included more explanation: the forum search will probably give it.) Edited to overcome forum fomatting with deleted text. frapaul83
Thanks, I'll take a look. The thing is I've always been using Alfred with Google Drive set up the way that it is, and there's never been a problem. And, also, it's finding other files in that very same folder, just not that file. 😕 Edited to add: Also, in case it makes any difference, I've setup Google Drive to mirror. Below is another file from the same folder's troubleshooting log. So every Google Drive file is already on my computer, it's not in the cloud. Can't thank you enough for the help. Vero
@frapaul83 Could you confirm whether your issue specifically occurs when searching for Google Drive documents, or are you having issues finding files on your Mac generally? On 8/16/2023 at 7:43 AM, frapaul83 said: yes, I did migrate to this new Mac! If that's the case, you may be encountering a fairly well known issue with the macOS Migration Assistant. Could you please open Alfred's preferences to Features > Default Results and, in the bottom right of the search scope, click "Reset..." and choose "Reset to full disk" Once you've done this, try searching for your files. Are they found? The more information you can provide on your particular setup, how long since you've set up your Mac and migrated your files in, whether you followed both steps 5 and 6 in the Indexing Troubleshooting page, the easier it will be for us to help you work out why some content isn't found on your Mac. frapaul83
Hey Vero and all who have been helping! So, yesterday night I went to rebuild Spotlight through the MacOS options. I added my Google Drive to be ignored and then removed it from the ignore to rebuild. It seems that this has (, for now,) fixed the issue! Thanks again! Link to comment
frapaul83
Just to be safe, though, I've also done what you just instructed. Thanks so much for all your helpfulness. Link to comment
