Open links in specific browsers

Can I tell Alfred to open a specific link (like a google meet link) in only a specific browser (such as Chrome)?

 

I use Firefox but would like to automate things so that when I click on a google meet link it will automatically open in Chrome.

Yes. The Open URL Action allows setting a specific browser to open a link.

But this is not telling Alfred, it’s telling macOS. Alfred does not interfere with those calls. You can change your default browser fast with @zeitlings’s Set Default Browser or use a specialised app like Velja. In fact, this is the first item in their “Example use-cases”:

Note: I have never used the app, but some Alfred users have mentioned using it.

Confused. So I can open specific links using that action or I need a separate app FIRST?

You use either solution applies to what you want to do, they’re all separate.

I setup a workflow with that action ('open URL') but it still opens to my default browser.

 

Do I need to input https://meet.google.com/ with some sort of string behind it?

Basically, a modifier to let Alfred know that 'any URL' with 'meet.google.com' in it?

If you want it to work on clicks in any app, use the linked app.

Here's an idea using either a Hotkey or Universal Action and matching the selected link against some Regex to conditionally open it in a specific browser.
