JRB
Hey there, I changed the name of my Main Alfred Folder in Dropbox from Alfred.alfredpreferences to z - Alfred which syncs all my preferences, snippets, etc. to Alfred. (Image 1) Now all my snippets, etc. have disappeared... (Image 2) I tried re-setting my preferences folder to the preference folder in Image 1, but none of my snippets, etc. are populating in Alfred. Any recs on how to get things back to how they were? Will I need to reload all snippets I have saved in my Snippets folder and if so, how do I do that? Thanks for any / all help! Vero
@JRB If you open Alfred's preferences to Advanced, you'll see the folder Alfred uses for syncing - Does this match the renamed folder? If not, click "Set preferences folder..." and go select the new folder name. Also, do check that your folder in Dropbox is set to be available offline by right-clicking it and choosing "Make available offline". Let me know how you get on Link to comment
JRB
Hey Vero, Yep, this folder is selected and is available offline — screenshot below and here's a quick loom if helpful: https://www.loom.com/share/4275732955904b61b32b7017175acce0 Link to comment
vitor
Once you renamed the folder, you broke the association and it no longer was a bundle (like renaming an app and removing the extension). Then you set the sync location inside that folder and Alfred had to start over with default settings. That would explain what you’re seeing. Quit Alfred. Copy z - Alfred somewhere else so you have a backup. Trash the Alfred.alfredpreferences that is in z - Alfred. Rename z - Alfred to Alfred.alfredpreferences. Create a new z - Alfred folder at the same location. Move Alfred.alfredpreferences to z - Alfred. Start Alfred. If everything is OK, you can trash the backup from step 2.
