CarlosNZ
http://cl.ly/MHBA A fairly basic word count workflow for Alfred 2. Keyword "wc" shows clipboard word count in Alfred results box: And a hotkey shows the word count of either the selected text (Ctrl-W by default) or in the clipboard (Ctrl-Shift-W). It's currently set to show notifications using Large Type, but you can replug the config to go to "Post Notification" if you prefer. drking, jdkram and dfay 3 Link to comment
dfay
Nice. I was just about to write a workflow to call wc but you've done it for me. Thanks! Link to comment
mescalito
I've made a small modification to the workflow in order to allow an optional argument so that you get the world count our of what you type in alfred: wc "HI" will count HI https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/51604079/Word%20Count.alfredworkflow CarlosNZ 1 Link to comment
Master_Yogurt
Awesome workflow, exactly what I needed for checking students' paper assignments. You've made my day. CarlosNZ 1 Link to comment

BioArach
Hi, I found something that is not working properly when using the word count of selected text (suggested as control + w), this method always gives me one extra word in the result. Curiously all other methods work fine, with keyword and by "ctrl + w". Does anyone know how to fix this? Greetings, Link to comment

I get the same consistent result with each method. Can you be more specific as to what you're doing to get this result? Link to comment
