Andrew
Hi, after the release of the new build 2.6 i'm experimenting tons of issue in searching on a network drive (server). I've reset cache, delete - add the server folder but the issue is still there. Any help ? Thanks Is Spotlight able to find files on the network drive? Alfred uses the same underlying OS X metadata to search for files as Spotlight, so this will give a good indication if the issue lies in the metadata. Cheers, Andrew Link to comment
face
Hi Andrew, thanks for the reply. How to setup Spotlight to find files/folders on the network drive ? I use Yosemite (last versions available) Client and Server. Link to comment
Andrew
Hi Andrew, thanks for the reply. How to setup Spotlight to find files/folders on the network drive ? I use Yosemite (last versions available) Client and Server. Spotlight will automatically find files on an OS X Server if the indexing is working correctly on the server. You may just need to reindex the OS X Server, and make sure Spotlight indexing is enabled for connected clients. I'm not too familiar with OS X Server, so somebody here may be able to help out with the specific details of this. Cheers, Andrew Link to comment
face
It's odd but on previous version all works fine. Now it seems to not 'catch' properly the shared server folder. I'm the only one experimenting this issue ? Btw i've tried this link to force indexing shared network folder http://www.lucidica.com/help/73/ Link to comment
face
I've an update, after reading this post. http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/5135-yosemite-spotlight-server-is-disabled/ but the odd is (as said also there) now Alfred works ok but spolight (on the same iMac client where Alfred is running) not works on server. How is it possible ? Alfred not relies on Spotlight index ??? Link to comment
