mbigras
Is it possible to increase the width of the Alfred toolbar? The reason is when I search for bookmarks or files sometimes the names are too long so they get chopped off but it would be nice to be able to see them. Link to comment
vitor
What do you mean by “toolbar”? Do you mean Alfred’s window? Everything you can change is in Alfred Preferences → Appearance. Link to comment
mbigras
Hi @vitor ya I meant the Alfred window. Seems like there is no way to do it then Link to comment
vitor
There is. In that panel hover at area of the shadow of the widow. You’ll see “Window Width” appear at the bottom, along with current size, instructions, and border color. Click and drag up or down at that time to change the size of the window. Link to comment
mbigras
Right on I'm happy to hear it's possible, I've still been searching and hover around but I'm not finding it. Can you attach a screen shot? searching docs for it also not finding it https://www.alfredapp.com/search/?p=help&q=width Edited December 5, 2016 by mbigras Link to comment
mbigras
Weird, the themes and fonts section isn’t showing up for and neither is the hover drag option. I’m using Alfred v3.3 with powerpack. Am I missing something here? Edited April 7, 2017 by mbigras Link to comment

Eric
You can't change the width of the default themes. You need to first duplicate it and then all of the instructions you see on this thread will apply. Right click on the theme and then click Duplicate Theme. Give your new theme a name and click "Save". You can then resize the window as well as change other theme properties as other folks have mentioned. mbigras 1 Link to comment

Fake Farm
Hello. I am attempting to do the same thing of making my custom appearance wider. I do not see the option to make the window wider, only the padding. I have attached a clip. How do I make the window wider? I'm on 3.7.1 Thank you! Edited December 23, 2018 by Fake Farm it loaded. Tsunami
You need to drag at the top or bottom of the window, as shown in vitor's GIF. Link to comment
Fake Farm
Thank you for the response. That more specific move did it! I swear I must have tried every movement but that one. [solved] Link to comment
dp_ucsd
I've seen earlier posts about how to do this (e.g. see below), but cannot find how to do this in 4.0.3. Not sure if it is a version issue; I'm new to Alfred. thanks Edited August 28, 2019 by dp_ucsd Link to comment
vitor
Welcome @dp_ucsd, In the future, if you found a relevant topic please don’t open a new one — that splits the conversation and doesn’t help whoever visits the old one. Instead, comment on the one you found. I’ve merged the two. As to your question, move the mouse cursor to the left or right of the window and you’ll see a large green rectangle indicating you can change the width. Link to comment
Andrew
@dp_ucsd adding to what @vitor said, you'll need to duplicate one of the default themes (or create a brand new theme) as the default themes are not editable. Once you have a custom theme selected, move the mouse around the Alfred window within the theme editor and you'll see a highlight for the item you'll be editing (resizing, colouring etc). Cheers, Andrew Link to comment
dp_ucsd
great, thanks both of you! Link to comment
haran
Hi, I'm on version 4.3.4 of the app and I'm unable to increase the width. When I try to move the mouse over from the outside to the search bar as shown by @vitor's gif, it doesnt' show the window resizing options. It just shows the options attached below. Link to comment
Andrew
@haran this is a Powerpack only feature - could you please fill in the Powerpack email address field (this isn't publicly visible) in your forum profile and then I can help you out Link to comment
iApple
Hi @Andrew. Discovered something new on this thread & wanted to play around with width adjustment, but have same issue as haran. On mega supporter powerpack license. Link to comment
Andrew
@iApple try moving your mouse a bit further left or right of the Alfred window in the theme editor, see the highlight here: Link to comment
iApple
Thanks, that method works. Was doing it like Vitor's gif but that didn't work. Link to comment
haran
@Andrew I've updated my powerpack email license. But your previous comment seems to work. Thanks! Edited May 20, 2021 by haran Andrew 1 Link to comment
